ARX Hotel: a lobby kiosk that answers what guests used to ask at the desk
A 50-inch portrait touch screen that sells the hotel's amenities, answers the usual questions in three languages and keeps working without internet on a mini PC.

Where it started
Guests at ARX Hotel in Zárate queued at reception with the same questions: where is the pool, when is breakfast, what is there to do nearby. Printed brochures went stale the week they were printed.
What we built
Entry by intention. The home screen asks what the guest feels like: relax, with kids, work, eat, go out. Each path lands on the amenities that fit, with photo, hours and location.
Everything the desk repeats. Rooms, amenities, local tourism and practical information, in Spanish, English and Portuguese, with the language switch always in reach.
Built for a lobby, not a browser. The screen is a 50-inch vertical panel on a mini PC. The app is offline-first, assets are precompressed, the frame cost is measured against the screen, and a watchdog restarts the browser if anything hangs. Content is validated by script before every build so a typo in a schedule never reaches the lobby.
Cinematic attract mode. When nobody touches it, the kiosk plays a slow film of the hotel's mornings and invites the guest to explore.
Stack
React, Vite, TypeScript, GSAP, Three.js for the attract scene, Zustand, Playwright end-to-end and soak tests, Windows deploy scripts for the mini PC.
